My second assingment for @NatGeo was a story about #Patagonia Dinosaur hunters. I worked with #RodlofoCoria and several others. One of the main stars of the job was the landscapes of the area. They were hard believe, the color and the scale of the vistas. They helped me to imagine another world, one that might have been home to so many Late #Cretaceous #dinosaurs.@RobertClarkphoto @thephotosociety @Natgeo @instituteArtist #sunset by natgeo

“One beautiful thing about advocating for the poor is that feminist ideals are advanced naturally. In order to fight eviction from their homes, women whose patriarchy has kept them secluded have been allowed to emerge into public life. Their husbands have been forced to choose their homes over their idea of honor. Even within my organization, the patriarchy is being broken down. Energetic young females are beginning to share influence with older male members. When you’re in a tough fight for a common cause, you can’t afford to be choosy about where the best ideas are coming from.” (Hunza Valley, Pakistan) by humansofny

There are certain fabrics — cotton muslin, shiny silk, natural wool — that move Julie Robert (@julie_weaves). “When I touch fabrics, a lot of things appear in my head, like ideas and combinations with other fabrics to create a piece,” says Julie, a textile designer who taught herself to weave on the Internet two years ago. For six months, she practiced every day, undoing and redoing every line to push herself to learn new techniques. Now she makes large, contemporary wall hangings on a loom and teaches weaving classes in Hyรจres, her small coastal town in the South of France, and in other parts of the country. “I get to meet other creative minds and learn a lot myself,” she says. “I’m very shy and it’s a great way to get out of this feeling.” Photo of @julie_weaves by @clement_minair by instagram

"There were no paved roads here when I was a boy. We had to walk for 3 days to get to places that only take 2 hours now. There was never any money for school. We had no wealth or property. Beginning at six years old, I cleaned dishes at a restaurant until 9 pm. Then I would go to sleep and start again. All my money went to my parents. I'd hear stories about cities and airplanes, but they seemed like fairy tales. I'd dream of visiting these places, but before I could get too far, I'd be hungry again. So I grew up thinking that the entire world was like our valley. I thought all children lived like me. Then one day when I turned 16, I had the opportunity to visit to the city of Gilgit. I couldn't believe it. I saw a boy eating at a restaurant with his father. He was my age. He was wearing a school uniform. I broke down in tears." (Hunza Valley, Pakistan) by humansofny

Photo by @ciriljazbec / Hell's Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. In the early 1900s, Mount Longonot erupted, and ash can still be felt around Hell's Gate. The Lower Gorge is the main attraction of the park. Walking in the gorge is an amazing experience; a 2 hour expedition of geological experience of beauty and function, water eroded walls so narrow that they almost block out the sky, several hot and cold waterfalls, hot water springs, and colorful strata and rock formations. @ciriljazbec @natgeo #Hells #Gate #volcano #Kenya #Africa by natgeo

Photo by @paleyphoto (Matthieu Paley). Doing a #salto over piles of #hay is apparently a summer ritual for teenagers in Tajikistan's Pamir mountains! In this remote region, people still use animals for threshing, in this case donkeys. I have traveled a lot with donkeys in the Greater #Himalaya - they are the best companions and can trek over surprisingly hard terrain. More #Pamir images on @paleyphoto. #Tajikistan #mountains #donkey #gymnastic @thephotosociety @natgeocreative by natgeo

Photo taken by @stevemccurryofficial // With the sudden cloudbursts, torrential downpours and subsequent flooding, the monsoon season makes everyday activities incredibly difficult. Yet, with the duckweed-covered water lapping gently against the white picket fence and the calm expression on the girl's face, life continues much the same. Milky Way over Uluru

The central regions of our Milky Way Galaxy rise above Uluru/Ayers Rock in this striking night skyscape. Recorded on July 13, a faint airglow along the horizon shows off central Australia's most recognizable landform in silhouette. Of course the Milky Way's own cosmic dust clouds appear in silhouette too, dark rifts along the galaxy's faint congeries of stars. Above the central bulge, rivers of cosmic dust converge on a bright yellowish supergiant star Antares. Left of Antares, wandering Saturn shines in the night. via NASA http://ift.tt/1H4Flwz
