Photo by @daviddoubilet A spine-cheeked clownfish (anemonefish) stands out in the bright white tentacles of its host anemone in #KimbeBay #PapuaNewGuinea. The pure white anemone may be beautiful to look at but it is a symbol of stress, coral bleaching and #climatechange. Higher than normal sea temperatures caused the anemone to lose its photosynthetic algae and its normally rich coloration. Clownfish and their host anemones are a biological barometers of coral reef health.
