They cradle their babies 24 hours a day for the first few weeks of their lives without ever putting them down. This is Ying Hua and her baby, who was born June 19th at the Bifengxia Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center in Sichuan Province. I am in China to document this year’s bumper crop of the most adorable baby pandas born at the breeding center. At birth, pandas are blind and weigh only a few onces, but in 6 months they can grow to 88 lbs.
